Job Coach Description

Position Overview:

As a Job Coach, you will support individuals in preparing for, obtaining, and maintaining employment. You will deliver comprehensive Job Readiness Training, assist with job search efforts, and provide tailored short-term on-the-job support to foster client independence and success.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Readiness Training (JRT):

Deliver training on essential workplace skills such as communication, professionalism, teamwork, and problem-solving. Support job search strategies including resume building, interview preparation, and networking. Facilitate vocational rehabilitation-funded work experience programs.

Job Search Assistance (JSA):

Assist clients in creating professional email accounts and resumes. Set up and update online job search profiles. Guide application submissions according to client preferences. Conduct workplace readiness assessments. Prepare clients for interviews with practice sessions and follow-up guidance. Provide ongoing support through regular check-ins and employer communication.

Short-Term Job Support (ST JS):

Assess clients’ support needs on the job and provide graduated assistance, fading prompts as independence grows. Advocate for accommodations and maintain communication with employers. Teach clients to navigate workplace challenges with decreasing reliance on coaching.

Qualifications:

Experience in employment support, rehabilitation, or related fields preferred.

Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.

Ability to assess individual client needs and tailor support.

Knowledge of job search tools, resume writing, and interview techniques.

Patience, empathy, and dedication to client success.

Collaborative approach with employers and vocational counselors.

Salary:

Starting at $25.00 per hour, scaling up to $35.00 per hour based on experience and competencies.

Benefits:

Eligible after 6 months of employment.

Includes health insurance, retirement plan, and tuition reimbursement.

Subject to mutual agreement between employee and employer.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in community settings, training centers, or employer worksites with possible travel and flexible scheduling.
